On 17th of July Azerbaijan Hotel Association organized first ever and exclusive webinar with international speakers dedicated to tourism recovery and international best practices on restarting tourism and hospitality industries.
Webinar featured experts from fellow associations as Switzerland, Georgia and Turkey, President of AHA, President of HOTREC and CEO of ATB shared their impeccable insights on general situation and measures amid spread of pandemic, reopening trend and strategies in respective countries.
CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Mr. Sengstschmid shared the main achievements and statistics of 2019-2020 and outlined ATB’s response to the pandemic: our four-phased recovery plan, projects to stimulate domestic tourism, and maintaining our marketing strategy. Mr. Kleinmann, the President of AHA especially highlighted the lobbying and support actions by AHA during lockdown and future plans during post pandemic recovery process. AHA contribute positively in development of projects initiated by ATB and STA, we also identify main issues and challenges in hospitality industry to further represent with government authorities. Mr. Christensen mentioned impact of this crisis in regional level to European Union and support mechanism by EU officials. As Schengen countries starting to open borders, President of HOTREC highlighted actions and preventive measures taken by individual countries to promote countries as safe destination to travel.
